This is a gorgeous ride that explores three of the loveliest bike trails in Delaware, while enjoying the rural sites of southern and eastern Delaware's small town treasures, lush farmlands and the joy of witnessing the changing colors of the fall's foliage. All the while, our SAG wagon transports our luggage, drink mixes, snacks, water, and clothes to adapt to the temperature variations of our day, ridden at a relaxed pace to enhance the joy.

We will start at the trail head of the Jack Markell Trail and head south through scenic, historic New Castle, through Delaware City and over the Reedy Point Bridge and its spectacular view of the glistening waters of the C&D Canal and the Delaware River. Continuing south we cycle south to a bagel and coffee breakfast in quaint Port Penn. Then, following the Delaware River we continue south past Odessa, Leipsic and Little Creek, where we will enjoy a lunch break.

Continuing south, we will ride past the Dover Air Force Base. And, if we are lucky, we will enjoy the boom of a C-130 flying over our route.

We then turn east for our route past Magnolia, Frederica and the hinterlands of Delaware and its wooded and agrarian spectacles. Next up is Milford and a coffee and pastry break at Starbucks.

As we continue on, we will ride through Milton, home of the Dogfish Head Brewery, and hop onto the Georgetown/Lewes Trail, with its asphalt pavement through forests and back woods delights and smells.

Next up is the Lewes and the entrance onto the Junction and Breakwater Trail, a more rustic route through the pinelands along the Atlantic Ocean, and our ultimate destination in Rehoboth Beach.

Hot showers and change of clothes will be provided at our hotel. Then, off we go to dinner at one of Rehoboth's fabulous restaurants. At this point, some may choose to stay overnight at our hotel, while most choose a ride back to the start.

This is a wonderful day that has to be experienced to be appreciated for its unique pleasures.
