Our courses are over low-traffic paved roads through the lush, rolling Chester County hills known for their thoroughbred horse farms and beautiful landscapes. Our longer routes venture into the horse and buggy farm areas of Lancaster County. Century riders will roll to a rest stop in the aptly named town of Paradise PA.  History buffs will love the historic revolutionary war connection of the nearby Brandywine Battlefield Historic Site.  Others will be charmed by beautifully shaded roads winding by the area's many creeks and streams.  Just a few miles before your ride's end, cyclists on the 50 and 100-mile routes will roll into one of the region’s best “cow-to-cone” ice cream farms for a refreshing, free ice cream.

Please pay particular attention to the following:

  • All riders are expected to have a fully functional and well-maintained bicycle.
  • Helmets are required.
  • All routes may be navigated with cue sheets (provided) and/or GPS routes.
  • There will be no road marks, but we will place signs at some major route splits.
  • Class II electronic bikes (bikes with pedal assist and a throttle) are not permitted on this tour.
  • SAG will be provided until 4 p.m.
  • All routes start at Charles F. Patton Middle School, 760 Unionville Road, Kennett Square PA 19348.

Your tour fees directly benefit the community!  Proceeds after tour expenses are distributed to many community organizations.  Past donations have included local trails and parks, non-profit cycling organizations and community schools and sports organizations.

2026 Road Routes:

  • 20 Miles - A guided ride led by a DVBC ride leader for experienced riders who want a shorter option with approximately 900 feet of climbing and one water/rest break midway along the route.
  • 35 Miles - This route, which climbs about 2,000 feet, includes delightful rolls through quaint towns, plus magnificent equestrian farm scenery on the way to and from the Harmony Rest Stop.
  • 50 Miles - Lots of flat stretches but enough hills that you will take notice of about 3,000 feet of climbing. This route is so pretty we hope it won't bring tears to your eyes! Two fully stocked rest stops plus lunch at the finish.
  • 66 Miles - Awesome scenery abounds in this ride from Chester County into Lancaster County and back again. Three fully stocked rest stops plus lunch at the finish with a tad under 4,000 feet of climbing.
  • 100 Miles – With about 6,000 ft climbing, this town and country ride has it all!  We set you off on a moderate and scenic route, then head for the hills and dales of western Chester County and rural Lancaster County.  You'll enjoy rolling past gorgeous Octorara Creek, admire the impossibly tall corn, and search for Amish Sunday worshippers with collections of horses and buggies visiting neighborhood farms. Plus you'll find two beautifully restored covered bridges on this route. Four fully stocked rest stops - including a stop in Paradise just for Century riders and a pizza stop - plus lunch at the finish.

Finally, and new for this year only, DVBC has partnered with the September 11th National Memorial Alliance (the “Organization” or “9/11 NMTA”), to honor the 25th Anniversary of 9/11/2001 and the 250th Birthday of America.

In remembrance of all our heroes lost on 9/11/2001, the 9/11 NMTA introduces the 25th Anniversary Cycling Challenge (the “Challenge”).  It is a series of over 30 events from May to November of 2026 that features a unique variety of cycling experiences spread out over several states.  It offers gifts for reaching different levels of accomplishments.

The “25th Anniversary Cycling Challenge” will continue the Organization’s mission to raise awareness of its mission while fulfilling the promise to “Never Forget” the heroes we lost that day.

You may register for the challenge by two methods:
     1) Go to the website (9/11 National Memorial Trail | Honoring Heroes with Every Mile).
               a. Click on “Events” from the drop down menu at the top right side of the page.
                           i. The featured event should be the 25th Anniversary Cycling Challenge9/11 25th Anniversary Cycling Challenge
ii. You may view “Event Details” for additional information or “Register Now” to join the challenge.
iii. The fee to register is $100.00
               b. Once you register, view all the other cycling clubs that have partnered with the Organization and click on each club’s link to register for their event.  Please note that listed clubs may have additional fees to register for their events.
     2) Fill out a registration form and pay at any of the official events.

Once you register, you may participate in as many events as you wish.  When you arrive at each event, find the 9/11 National Memorial Trail Alliance Booth/Canopy and sign in and fill out how many miles you will be cycling for that event.  This guarantees you will be recognized and credited with the correct mileage and attendance.  While there, check to verify your account is correct for events and mileage.

As a way to thank you for your participation, the Organization will award prizes at the end of the season based on the total mileage ridden and events you participated in, and an additional prize to the club with the highest collective miles ridden.

The list of individual awards is as follows:

Register and receive a special deck of playing cards.
Sign up – receive a Special Edition 9/11 NMT Challenge Coin.
Complete 500 miles – receive a 9/11 NMT calendar, cards, puzzle
Complete 1,500 miles – receive a jersey or windbreaker
Complete 2,500 miles – receive a SENA blue tooth Bike Helmet

The cycling club that accumulates the most miles will receive a custom made 10x10 canopy.  Please browse the Organization’s page for additional information.
